SOURCES

    EUROPE

  •  Germany / Netherlands

  •  England

  •  France

    AUSTRALASIA

  •  Singapore

  •  Australia / New Zealand

  •  Southeast Asia

COMMENTS

    EUROPEAN GRADES

  • In most cases, European qualities are not as good as American grades:

  •        European fibers are shorter as the Americans use more virgin pulp in their paper production

  •         European sorting is not as pure as their papers would include mechanically sorted household waste.

  • But European grades are constantly available in bigger quantities and often more affordable.

  • We consider price as the dominating criteria and therefore we concentrate on European grades.

    GERMAN GRADES

  • The bulk of European waste paper originates from Germany which has one of the highest recovery rates. For the quality, above comments on European grades are applicable.

    DUTCH GRADES

  • Most of Dutch papers actually originate from Germany.

  • Some buyers say that German sorting is more consistent.

  • Dutch traders are however more flexible in pricing.

    ENGLISH /  FRENCH  GRADE

  • French and English Grades are often better sorted than standard European qualities, but their availability is limited. Their price is often higher and supply inconsistent.

    AUSTRALIAN / NEW ZEALAND GRADE

  • Better sorted than English and French grades and price is even higher. Inconsistent supply of limited quantities.

    SINGAPORE / MALAYSIAN GRADE

  • Good sorting, reasonable pricing, frequent moisture problems
